The South Florida Fair is full of time-tested traditions, but there’s always enough new things each year to keep the 17-day event fresh. Here’s a look at what’s new:
- All livestock, dairy cattle, rabbits and poultry entries must be submitted on-line. NO paper entries.
- New entry dates for market steers: Open August 1; close September 5
- Youth Market Goat Show: Friday, January 12
- American Dairy Goat Association Sanctioned Leg Show: Sunday, January 21
- Mandatory Market Steer weigh-in/tag-in/DNA collection: Thursday, September 7
- Beef Education & Awareness Day: Monday, January 22
- AG Careers Connection & Trade Show: Tuesday, January 23
- Temple Grandin’s reflections on agriculture, living with autism and visual thinking: Wednesday, January 24, 7 p.m. *Separate ticket required.
- Youth Livestock Judging Contest returns
