Songfest for Korean Vets

Date: Jan 25, 2024
Time: 1:00 PM
SongFest for Vets VI- The Forgotten War and the Forgotten Warriors of the Korean War! 70 Years of Armistice! that will happen onAmerican Heroes Day at the South Florida Fair on January 25th from 12:30-6:30pm!

Please join us at the Coca Cola Stage to celebrate the members of the Lt. Richard C Cronan Chapter #17 of the Korean War Veterans Association, Delray Beach, FL. They'll retell the story of the War as only these 89+ year old servicemen and women can. No matter where they served during the Korean War you can hear tales of being drafted, volunteering, shipping into and out of Korea and stories from The Yellow River to Pusan and Inchon to Chosin, and even tales from Pork Chop Hill. I am also in contact with Chapter 108 from Port St. Lucie and their members may also attend and tell their tales.

To accompany these amazing stories we have assembled the very best in early 50's music, as well as some great songs from several eras, as performed by the West Boca Raton High School Performing Arts Choir and Theater Ensembles to sing the Armed Forces Medley and other songs to help us remember the Korean War and the 7,500 still missing and unaccounted for, to date. Then Dave and Vicky (whose close relatives served in Korea) will perform patriotic, country and some amazing Native American tunes for your enjoyment. Doug and the band AWOL will astound with their 50s blues and Les Paul styled guitar-playing. Then, our big 15 piece band will premier on the stage around 4pm. Chief Cherry and his Red Beans and Rice Band features 2 trumpets, 4 saxophones, 4 vocalists, guitar, a full size bass, piano and drums to take you back to the 50's in style, with some exquisite jazz and swing overtones, all to appear like you are attending a USO show in Korea back in the day.

Your attendance at the event would mean the World to our Korean Veterans. If you can help us distribute the attached flyers to anyone and everyone you know and all the chapters and posts of all the great organizations included in this distribution list, please do and thank you! If there is a way to begin getting interviews on media outlets withe these Korean War gents they will definitely not be disappointed and raising attendance is the absolute best way to can show them you will not forget them of the 7,500 that still have not returned.
