LOCHNESS MONSTER

Lochness Monster at the 2022 South Florida Fair

THURSDAY, JANUARY 27
7:00 PM

SATURDAY, JANUARY 29
4:00 PM

Lochness Monster is an Alternative Rock band from South Florida. The band consists of Bruce Donaldson (Singer), Justin Shaner (Guitar), Federico Carradini (Bass), and Rene Rivera (Drums). Justin Shaner formed Lochness Monster in 2015 and in 2016 their debut album “Fables” was released. The album was recorded by gold record producer James Paul Wisner who also worked with bands, such as, Dashboard Confessional, Paramore, and Underoath. The album received radio play and it peaked at #16 on the CMJ (College Music Journal) charts, remaining on the charts for several months. In 2018 the band re-entered the studio with Wisner to work on their self-titled EP and the band released a music video for “Calling Out” and “Farewell Past” off the EP. The singles’ “Defiance” and “Farewell Past” played on the “Launch Pad Live Top 20 Countdown” and charted in the #1 and #2 positions for several months.

Lochness Monster was awarded Best Rock Band at the 2019 Oski Awards in Miami, FL and was chosen to play at one of Florida’s largest music festivals, SunFest, with One Republic and Keith Urban headlining. In 2020 Lochness Monster was planning to play Rock in Roma, an international rock festival, but the festival was delayed due to the pandemic.

From 2019 to 2021 Lochness Monster entered the studio again to work on their 2nd EP titled “Working for a Future” which will include 3 new songs (Atlas, Glass Jar, and Running Away) and an alternate version of one of their fan favorites, “Pendulum,” with Bruce Donaldson on vocals. Guitarist, Justin Shaner, states “our new songs on this 2nd EP are a result of us not giving up on songwriting through covid and finding creative ways to continue our passion through a time that was difficult to get together. We went through numerous remote mixing sessions, and once we could get together again, we continued to do in person mixing sessions. We had a new production sound we were going for that was more stripped down then our previous releases, so we decided to entirely produce these new songs ourselves at Rain Cat Recordings in Stuart, FL and Bull Productions in Miami, FL. Though it was a longer process then usual, we were able to get this new material right where we envisioned it to sound, and these studios really did a great job of capturing the music in a raw, authentic way.” “Working for a Future” is set to be released soon but the exact date has not been announced yet. Andy Van Dette is currently mastering the new songs in New York City. Lochness Monster stays very active in the live music scene, especially across South Florida, and can be seen playing live throughout the year.

DJ MARLEY

SATURDAY, JANUARY 22
3 & 6 PM

DJ Marley, better known as Marley Desinord, is from Pompano Beach, Florida. She began Dj'ing at just the age of 7 years old when she was only in the 2nd grade. Marley wanted to become a DJ after seeing DJs set up outside of the Dolphin Stadiums before home games playing music during tailgates. She would be the people dance and have fun so that sparked her interest.

She begged her father for weeks and weeks to get her a beginner's DJ set and he finally relented and bought it. With an old Mac laptop and a beginner's controller, Marley started watching how-to-Dj YouTube videos with her dad and from there she started. She would spend hours playing. She then began making videos of her mixes and put them on Instagram. That started getting more and more people following her on Instagram and Twitter.

Marley made a "90s Hip Hop" mix that caught the attention of Tom Garfinkel CEO of the Miami Dolphins. He asked her to perform half-time of the Baltimore Ravens vs. Miami Dolphins preseason game in August of 2018. And from there she has never looked back. She has performed for the Miami Heat, worked with DJ Khaled, opened up for The Black Eyed Peas in June of 2021 in Miami.

Throughout much of her success, she stays humble and wants to be an example to little girls all over the country, that they can be anything they want to be, even at the tender age of 7.

JP SOARS & THE RED HOTS

MONDAY, JANUARY 24

Playing the blues not only requires diligence and dedication, but also an inherent sense of purpose and passion. Guitarist and vocalist J.P. Soars knows those instincts all too well, having been imbued with absolute enthusiasm for the form. It’s not only steered his muse ever since, but also brought him to the heights of success and wide recognition. A first place winner of the Blues Foundation 2009 International Blues Challenge, the Albert King Best Guitarist Award, any number of Blues Music nominations as Best Contemporary Male Blues Artist, and a nod for Best Blues Album, he’s been the recipient of continuing critical kudos, extensive worldwide airplay and sales that have elevated him to the uppermost rungs of every major Blues chart.

Of course, Soars and his powerhouse trio the Red Hots — including drummer Chris Peet and bassist Cleveland Fredrick — are no strangers to live performance either. Soars and Peet have played together for the past 16 years, while Fredrick, “the new guy,” has been with the band since 2016. They’ve proven their mettle on stages both nationally and internationally, played blues festivals from Belgium to Brazil, and shared stages with the likes of Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa. Brian Setzer and Larry Graham.

He has always had a passion for Folk Rock/Americana but is influenced by several other genres including R&B, Soul, and Gospel. This blend has given the band a great Folk Rock sound with lots of soul.
