As You Were US Army Band

Thursday, January 25
8:30PM

Music may not be the first thing you think of when the US Army comes to mind. It might not even be the third, fourth, or fifth thing you think of. As a matter of fact, you may have never linked the military to music, and you wouldn’t be alone in your reasoning. The two don’t tend to conjure one another unless, of course, your mind’s eye heads straight to the Civil War: A battle wherein a bunch of poor guys with drums and bugles marched to their demise alongside guys with muskets and guns. Though these musician-soldiers were integral to the popularization of American songwriting, they’ve since been largely forgotten, and so too the link between battlefield and beat-making.

Precision Dance Conservatory

Sunday, January 28
11:30AM

At Precision Dance Conservatory we like to have a curriculum and set standards for each class and level so that students are evaluated frequently so that they are learning and advancing at the proper pace that is best for them as an individual dancer. Curriculums are geared toward the student’s age and, more importantly, level of dance. This allows for uniformity in the level of teaching in each class to ensure that each student in every class is getting the best (most consistent) instruction possible. This prevents any gaps in learning by ensuring that teachers cover the full curriculum in each class so that all students are learning what they need before moving to the next level.

Our ballet curriculum ensures that all students are learning the fundamentals necessary to provide proper technique for safety. This produces the strongest dancers because having a strong foundation in dance is key. Gaps in learning the basics can cause problems in more advanced levels if the student did not have a strong foundation.

Our Acrobatics curriculum (Acrobatic Arts) is world recognized as the standard in AcroDance training. Our students have end of the year examinations by Acrobatic Arts certified examiners to evaluate them to ensure they are receiving the best training possible and that they are at their proper level. PDC owner, Nicole Thate, is an Acrobatic Arts certified instructor.

We offer a safe, friendly, structured environment to foster the love of dancing in students while teaching the skills to excel in dance and in life.

The annual South Florida Fair highlights local talent and and showcases guests' favorites at the Community Stage, located across from the Guest Services/Lost Children Office, at the south end of the covered walkway.
