2026 Record Books

Attention Youth:

2026 Fair dates are January 16 - February 1.

Youth Project Record Books must be completed and turned in according to the rules that govern your species. Failure to do so, may disqualify exhibitors from showing and will be determined by the Livestock Committee.

It is important that each section of these Record Books be complete and accurate. If the exhibitor chooses to not complete any section of the Record Book, judging points will be deducted and will be reflected in placing.

2026 Record Books

IMPORTANT:

Record Book is to be presented to the specie specific committee for verification. Consequence is the animal will not be allowed to unload.

MARKET STEER RECORD BOOK RULES

STEER EXHIBITORS: Present Record Book to the Steer Committee for verification prior to the unloading, check-in and final weighing of steer, showing completion of all required section, except the Project Revenue Declarations on Page 8, and the Project Summary on Page 10 of the 2026 Youth Market Hog & Steer Record Book detailing final weight and the market auction price and buyer(s). This section must be completed and the Record Book turned in its entirety to the Steer Committee within 30 minutes following the sale of the final steer in the Sell-a-Bration of Champions Youth Livestock Market Auction. The Record Books will then be judged for all completed sections. If the exhibitor’s animal is disqualified for any reason, your Record Book will not accepted for judging. Failure to present your Record Book for verification at final weigh-in will result in being disqualified and forfeited their sale and premium payouts, and will only receive rail price. Steers will be moved to end of auction for unsubmitted or late Record Books, regardless of placing in show. Record Books are judged on a points scale, and premiums will be paid for First and Second places. Third place Record Books are not paid a premium. Record Books will be mailed to exhibitors with auction/premium check(s) after all buyers are paid in full. Steer Record Books are to be the original book provided at tag-in. No binders, folders or downloaded books will be accepted.

MARKET HOG RECORD BOOK RULES

HOG EXHIBITORS: Record Book is to be presented to the Hog Committee for verification prior to the unloading, check-in and final weigh-in of hog, showing completion of all required sections, except the Project Revenue Declarations on Page 8, and the Project Summary on Page 10 detailing final weight and market auction price and buyer(s). This section must be completed and the Record Book turned in its entirety to the Hog Committee within 30 minute following the sale of the final hog in the Sell-a-Bration of Champions Youth Livestock Market Auction. The Record Books will then be judged for all completed sections. If the exhibitor’s animal is disqualified for any reason, your Record Book will not be accepted for judging. Failure to present your Record Book for verification at weigh-in will result in being moved to the end of the auction. Hogs will be moved to end of auction for unsubmitted or late Record Books, regardless of placing in show. Record Books are judged on a points scale, and premiums will be paid for First and Second places. Third place Record Books are not paid a premium. Record Books will be mailed to exhibitors with auction/premium check(s) after all buyers are paid in full. Hog Record Books are to be the original book provided at optional tag-in or on-line. No binders, folders or changes to the format will be accepted.

DAIRY GOATS RECORD BOOK RULES

Youth Record Books must be turned in at check-in, January 24, 2026.
Failure to participate in Poster Contest and/or Record Book, disqualifies exhibitor from Showmanship.

PULLET PROJECT RECORD BOOK RULES

PULLET EXHIBITORS: Record Book is to be presented to the Poultry Committee for verification prior to the unloading, check-in of pullets showing completion of all required sections, except the Project Revenue Declarations on Page 9, and the Project Summary on Page 11 detailing final poultry market auction price and name(s) of buyers. Failure to present your Record Book for verification at check-in will result in disqualification and loss of premiums and awards. Please refer to all rules on page 2 in the Record Book and page 68 in the Premium Book.

NOTE:

We recommend that exhibitors print off a copy of this record book to use as a “working copy” but submit the book that you received.
