ADOPT-A-COW

A year-long FREE experience in your classroom.

Forget the guinea pig. How about adopting a 100-pound dairy calf for your classroom mascot by joining the Adopt-a-Cow program? Don’t worry about finding a pen big enough to hold her. The photos and stories we’ll send you about her life on the farm will make her “come alive” for your students.

The best part? It is Free!

Visit https://www.discoverdairy.com/adopt-a-cow/ to register your classroom for the 24-25 program.

TESTIMONIAL

November, 2017

- "It was really powerful to see the kids embrace the experience provided by the Cultural Expedition Grant. For one thing, the children felt like royalty traveling in the charter bus instead of the traditional school buses that they have experienced before. Some of the third graders expressed that they thought the Yesteryear Village itself was going to be boring, but that it was much more amazing than they had anticipated. During the tour, one little girl leaned over and said that she was pretending like she was actually in 'old times.' And I think that is the magic of Yesteryear Village - as the students pass through the gates, they get an experience that they can't get in a classroom. It is as though they have been transported to the past because they are actually able to pump the water, stand in the hunter's shack, and sit in the one-room school house. Because of this, when the students read historical text or historical fiction, they are able to make connections with what they know and have experienced. Their comprehension of these topics will never be the same.
Looking forward to seeing you with my other group on the 15th!"
