STARZ OF THE FUTURE TALENT COMPETITION

Th0 South Florida Fair, January 15 – 31, 2010, will feature an exciting program showcasing aspiring local talent. Competing for prizes and recognition, performances will be scheduled on the Taste of Florida Stage Thursday, January 21 through Sunday, January 24 during the 2010 Fair.
CELEBRATING 10 YEARS!!!
In 1999, the South Florida Fair met with producer Maggi Rosenberg of SORentertainment to discuss a way to reach out to our community through the arts.
The Starz of the Furure Talent Competition became an incredible community program providing a platform where aspiring talent can perform, learn, grow and compete in a family-oriented environment.
Many of our contestants throughout the years have gone onto being featured acts in the music, television and entertainment industry. Among others:
Chris Grant, aka "Kryiss"- Toured with Beyonce in 2009;
Popstarz Dancers - Voted the Best Hip Hop Group in the nation by Debbie Allen;
Jesse Lee - Recently signed with atlantic Records in NYC; opening for several headliners' concerts like Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Clay Walker, Joe Nichols, Brooks 'n Dunn, etc;
Michael Province - Oprah TV show, participated in "The world's Greatest Musical Prodogies" British documentary;
Chloe Dolandis - co-host of Nickelodeon's Friday Night Slimetime;
Luisa Lubell - Star Search, CBS in LA; Good Morning America appearance, ABC in NYC; Quinceañera on Telemundo;
Giovy Jimenez - Featured in many magazines and the Miami Herald as the next "Selena"; winner of Teen People Magazine and Maybelline singing competition, N.Y.;
On our 10th year, the South Florida Fair continues to highlight, support and celebrate the many achievements, accomplishments and aspirations of all our contestants.
CATEGOIRES
Competition will be in three (3) age categories .
KIDS - 6-12 YEARS:
• VOCAL
• DANCE
TEEN -13-19 YEARS:
• VOCAL
• DANCE
ADULTS:
• VOCAL
ELIGIBILITY
Non-professional contestants from the counties of Palm Beach, Broward, Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Hendry are eligible to enter. Contestants under 18 years of age must have parent or legal guardian sign the entry form, as well as accompany the under age contestant during audition and showcase performances.

All contestants must complete an entry form and audition at a specified time and location to participate in the Starz of the Future Showcase. There's no entry fee.
All entries must be received and postmarked by NOVEMBER 27, 2009 by 5 pm. Entries postmarked, e-mailed or faxed after this date will not be considered and will be put on a mailing list for the following year. Please download and fill out entry form completely and mail to:

AUDITIONS
Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009: 8AM - 8PM
Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009: 10AM - 8PM
Monday and Tuesday, December 7 & 8: 3PM - 9PM
All contestants will be given an assigned date, time and location for their audition once the entry form has been received. A full sound system consisting of amp/mixer, speakers, CD & tape deck, 1 Cable Microphone, wireless hand held and wireless headset will be provided during audition.
