ALSA LEVEL II LLAMA A & B SHOWS

This show is limited to 100 llamas. Entries are on a
first come, first serve basis. The Alpaca &
Llama Show Association, Inc approves this show. All
rules and guidelines for this show will be in accordance
with the 14th Edition ALSA Handbook. No animals
will be permitted to enter the South Florida Fair without
a valid Health Certificate

Entries & Fees:
1. All entries must be post marked on or before December
1, 2007.
2. All entries should be mailed to:

3. Entry fees to be made payable to: South
Florida Fair.
4. The entry fee is $70.00 per
animal. In addition,
there is a $10.00 ALSA fee. This entitles you to register
for as many classes as you and/or your animal qualify
for.
ALL ANIMALS REGISTERED TO SHOW MUST PAY
THIS ENTRY FEE. PLEASE NOTE: FEES HAVE BEEN DOUBLED
AS THIS IS A DOUBLE SHOW.
5. There is a fee of $20.00
for entries registered for the Get of Sire or Produce
of Dam.
6. If fewer than 8 entries in Advanced Performance
classes, Advanced and Novice will be run as Open for
ALSA purposes; they will be placed according to division
for purposes of the South Florida Fair.
7. Youth Classes will be combined if there are fewer
that eight entries for ALSA purposes; they will be
placed according to division for purposes of the South
Florida Fair.
8. Any exhibitor that is not a member of ALSA will
be required to pay an additional $60.00 fee. Youth
pay $30.00.
9. Stall / Tack fee is $12.00.
10. Vending Space fee is $35.00 *** this fee is for all non showing entrants.
11. CAMPING - camping is available on a first come first serve basis. For information

Special Awards:
1. Ribbons will be awarded to seventh place in each class.
2. Trophies and/or prizes will be awarded to Grand and Reserve Grand Champions
in halter classes.
3. Performance Champion - Llama must be shown in at least two Advanced performance
classes to qualify. There must be at least 8 entries shown in the Advanced obstacle
class.
4. Youth Performance Champions - Youth must compete in all three-performance
classes.
Fairgrounds Entrance: Gate #4 via Sansbury’s Way off Southern Blvd. or
Okeechobee Blvd.
Check in and Arrival: January 20th from 4:30 PM -6:30 PM ** YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED
TO UNLOAD PRIOR TO THE STATE INSPECTOR VERIFYING HEALTH PAPERS FOR EACH LLAMA
(see health requirements) Please be aware that stalls are not available until
4:30 p.m. ***

At Check-in the following items will be necessary to verify your entry:
1. Registration paperwork for all llamas entered. Non-Breeder llamas must be
accompanied by a registration or veterinary certificate verifying the animal
is a gelding, a vasectomized male, or a spayed or non-reproductive female.
2. Any ALSA Permission to Show or Llama Lease forms.
3. ALSA membership cards.
Tickets: Each registered exhibitor will receive four (4) daily
admission tickets unless the exhibitor is a youth then they will be allotted
six (6) daily admission
tickets. Each registered exhibitor will receive one (1) parking pass. NO ADDITIONAL
TICKETS WILL BE ISSUED.
Judge’s Meeting: January 20th at 7:00 PM - - exhibitor’s area
Show: begins Sunday 7:30 PM for Halter and Showmanship.
Monday 8:00 AM for Performance classess.
Dress attire: Handler’s attire
should be neat, clean and appropriate for the class.
NO BUSINESS OR RANCH LOGOS,
PLEASE. For performance classes, the handler may wear
comfortable clothing appropriate for the class. Shoes
should be appropriate for the show ring and must completely
cover the foot.
Departures: All pens must be cleaned prior to departure.
Stall information: All pens are 10’ X 10’.
The pens are of an open type fence. Tarps are recommended
to keep your Llamas separate from your neighbors. Pens
will have shavings; it is recommended that exhibitors
bring mats. It is recommended that exhibitors bring
fans and extension cords. Wash areas are available
bring your own hose.
Health Requirements: Official Certificate of Veterinary
Inspection (OCVI) is required.
1. All animals for exhibition in Florida, unless specifically
exempted, must be accompanied by an OCVI issued by
a veterinary accredited in the state of origin.
2. The OCVI is valid for 30 days.
Halter Classes: Base date for computing age of animal
is January 20, 2008.
Juvenile: 5-12 months - born 1/21/07 - 8/20/07
Yearling: 13-24 months - born 1/21/06 - 1/20/07
2 Year Old: 25-36 months - born 1/21/05 - 1/20/06
Adult: 37 months or older born prior to 1/20/05
Llamas may be moved from one wool division to another at the Judge’s discretion.
Youth Class Divisions: Classes should be entered in the youth's name not the
Llama.
**Junior Youth Exhibitors -- 8-11 yrs of age
** Intermediate Youth Exhibitors -- 12-13 yrs of age
**Senior Youth Exhibitors --15-18 yrs of age
Llamas maybe entered in either Youth or Non Youth classes but not both.
Classes and Class Division:
Youth age divisions may be combined if there are fewer that 8 entries.
Classes will be announced as the show progresses.
Novice: Open to all entries that have fewer than 3 ribbons in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd
place in Open, Novice or Youth Division of the respective ALSA approved class.
After placing once, in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd the llama may enter Advanced.
Advanced: Open to all entries that have previously placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place
in Open, Novice, or Youth Division of the respective ALSA approved class or deemed
capable of competing at the advanced level by its owner.
Pack Classes: Both youth and non-youth the llama must be 18 months of age or
older.
All pack entries must adhere to ALSA rules regarding pack types, llama ages,
and weights to be carried.

must have attended the mandatory Youth Livestock Show

Get of Sire
1. Each entry must include only three offspring by
the same sire. The Get may be decided after halter
classes but must be listed with the Clerk before this
class is held.
2. The Get must consist of any offspring by one sire.
3. The Get must represent offspring out of at least
two different dams.
4. There may be more than one entry for a sire but
only the top placing will earn points.
5. All llamas in the Get must first be shown in their
appropriate halter class age division.
6. The sire must not be shown in this class.
7. If the Exhibitor(s) is not the sire’s owner,
they must have written permission of the sire’s
owner and the entry must be made in the owner’s
name.
Produce of Dam
1. Each entry must include only two offspring out of
the same dam. The produce may be decidied after halter
classes but must be listed with the clerk before this
class is held.
2. Produce must consist pf any 2 offspring from one
dam.
3. All Llamas in the produce must be shown in their
appropriate halter class age division.
4. There may be more than one entry for a dam but only
the top placing will earn points.
5. The dam will not be shown in htis class.
6.If the exhibitor(s) is not the dam's owner, they
must have written permission of te dam's owner and
the entry must be made in the owner's name.
