Attention youth, you MUST have attended the MANDATORY YOUTH LIVESTOCK SHOW ETHICS AND ANIMAL CARE WORKSHOP in order to show an animal at the 2008 South Florida Fair. Click here for more information

Special Rules

1. No exhibitor shall be permitted to win more than two prizes in any one class.
2. All animals must be registered as the property of the exhibitor in the records of the ASA as of the date prior to the opening of the show. Multiple owned animals must be exhibited in the name of all owners.
3. All Shorthorns and polled Shorthorns are subject to a tattoo inspection by representatives of the ASA.
4. Family bred and raised animals entered by juniors in junior classes and subsequently entered in Open classes may be treated as family entries in group classes.
5. Senior/Junior Yearling Pregnancy Rule for exhibitors at all Open shows: Any senior/junior yearling female 28 months of age or older on or before the date of the show must have a natural calf at side and must be shown with such. All females 20 months of age or older on or before the date of the show must have a 60 day pregnancy verification signed by an accredited, non-owner veterinarian at the time the female is processed for the show. If verification cannot be produced, the female may be allowed to participate if the exhibitor can produce a qualified veterinarian to examine the female at the show site, and verify a 60-day pregnancy. Any infractions against this rule will lead to disqualification
of that animal for that specific show.

Female Classes – Entry in this show binds the exhibitor to all regulations pertaining thereto.

2. Early Spring Heifer Calves – calved between Mar 1 and Apr 30, 2007
3. Junior Heifer Calves – calved between Jan 1 and Feb 28, 2007
4. Junior Heifer Calf Champion
5. Junior Heifer Calf Reserve Champion
6. Winter Heifer Calves – calved between Nov 1 and Dec 31, 2006
7. Senior Heifer Calves – calved between Sept 1 and Oct 31, 2006
8. Senior Heifer Calf Champion
9. Senior Heifer Calf Reserve Champion
10. Summer Yearling Females – calved between Jul 1 and Aug 31, 2006
11. Late Spring Yearling Females – calved between May 1 and Jun 30, 2006

44. Super Cow Class – class should consist of two offspring of either or same sex of show age classification. Dam's Name & Registration Number. Offspring do not need to be owned by the same exhibitor. No more than one pair from each cow can win a prize in the class.
45. Get-Of-Sire Class – class should consist of four offspring of either or same sex of any age from the same sire. Sire's Name & Registration Number. Offspring do not need to be owned by the same exhibitor. No more than one group from each sire can wine a prize in the class.
46. Best Six Head – Owned or co-owned by the exhibitor.
