BEEF CATTLE SPECIAL RULES & CLASSES

AMERICAN PINZGAUER ASSOCIATION
RULES AS OF JANUARY 2006:

1. All entries must be registered with the American Pinzgauer Association. All exhibitors must be members of the APA.
2. All entries must have legible tattoos that agree with their registration certificates, and tattoos must be checked and verified by an APA official at the show on the day of arrival.
3. All entries must be purebred, or full-blood Pinzgauer.
4. All entries must be red and solid faced, have a white underbelly and a predominately white tail.
5. All entries will be subject to sifting for correctness of papers and suitability to show.
6. Entries in the group classes must also show in an individual class.
7. Animals will enter the show ring in ascending order according to age, youngest to oldest.
8. Classes with fewer than 3 entries may be dropped and any entries in that class may be placed into the adjoining class closest to that entry's age.
9. Classes 13-15 must be accompanied by a certificate of pregnancy evaluation by a licensed veterinarian.
10. Females with calf at side will show in class 16 regardless to age. The calf may not be more than 240 days old when shown and calves more than 120 days old must be registered with the APA. Must be natural calf and cow must be wet.
11. Bulls in classes 29, 30, 31, 34, 35, 36 and 37 must have a nose lead or ring.
12. Classes 34-37 must be accompanied by a satisfactory semen evaluation by a licensed veternarian if offered for sale at the National Show.
13. Entry Fees are not to exceed funds required to match premiums offered, plus fair entry fees.
14. Fitting: No surgical alterations are permitted to the animals other than dehorning. No pumping or force filling with liquids, air, or any other substance. Tails are not to be balled.
