SATURDAY, JANUARY 13
Following in the steps of other newgrass revivalists, Uproot Hootenanny has influences from bluegrass, country, folk, and jam music, while uniquely incorporating Celtic instrumentals and ballads into their sound.
Uproot Hootenanny has been playing to crowds since 2007, primarily between Key West and Vero Beach, Florida. The band plays several local festivals, as well regional music festivals, including the Suwanee Springfest, Virginia Keys Grassroots Festival, Hickory Fest, South Florida Folk Festival, South Florida String Fest, Bay Jam Music Festival, Farm to Family Festival, and Open Grass Festival. Uproot Hootenanny tours Ireland annually, and has shared the stage with Hermitage Green and opened for the Charlie Daniels Band.
On their latest record, the four-piece folk/bluegrass band stays true to the genre through heavy jam sessions and whiskey dreams. Raucous tracks like ‘Twisted Riff’ and ‘Lucy and Stynes’ go full blown jam with a funky bass line laying down a solid foundation for the fiddle to shine through. Whether it’s just one shot or the entire bottle, Uproot Hootenanny are the perfect accompaniment to a good ole’ fashioned time.
