WEST PALM BEACH, FL - The spirit of old-fashioned Christmas is alive. For two big weekends in December, historic Yesteryear Village on the South Florida Fairgrounds will step back in time with a celebration of the Christmas season reminiscent of a simpler era. Sponsored by Publix, Pepsi, The Palm Beach Post and CBS 12 television, the annual joyful event is certain to put a smile on your face and life in your soul.

Strolling carolers, costumed re-enactors and charmingly decorated buildings will move you and your family into the Christmas spirit. Gaze upon a spectacular and decorated 23 foot Christmas tree; a blue ribbon Fraser fir transported from a tree farm in Lewisville, North Carolina. Vote for your favorite Christmas tree in a decorating, tree trim competition.

When's the last time you had a smore? The Village will have them together with hot chocolate, apple cider and many other delicious and special holiday food offerings. Entertainment includes talented local carolers and choral groups. Circle Saturday, December 11. That's when a live Nativity scene is presented by Good Shepherd Church of West Palm Beach.

Wait until you see the Village's gingerbread houses!  Shop special holiday crafters and check out the Village General Store for Christmas gift-giving. Be sure to bring the kids. Pony rides and children games will put a smile on their faces.  Meet Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

Christmas in Yesteryear Village is Thursday through Sunday December 9-12 and Thursday through Sunday December 16-19 from 5:00-9:00 P.M. Admission is just $7 for adults. Children ages 5 and under are admitted free. Parking is free. Purchase an advance admission ticket to January's South Florida Fair at any Publix in Palm Beach County and receive a free admission ticket to Christmas in the Village.

Yesteryear Village is located on the South Florida Fairgrounds on Southern Boulevard just one mile west of Florida Turnpike exit #97. For more information, click www.southfloridafair.com or phone (561) 793 0333.
