TIPS
TO MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR VISIT...AND ENJOY THE FAIR
Check
the weather. South Florida weather in January is world-famous for its
balmy, tropical conditions, but can change quickly. Check ahead on whether
you
need to bring sunscreen, a hat, a sweater, or a poncho.
Arrive early. There is plenty to see and do. Parking area opens one
(1) hour prior to Fair opening.
Parking. There is ample complimentary parking
most days of the Fair. Remember which gate number you entered.
Take a moment to familiarize yourself with your surroundings to avoid
confusion when you depart.
PARKING IS FREE. Preferred parking is $10 on weekdays and $20 on
weekends.
Tram service. Give your feet a break. Complimentary and regularly scheduled
tram service is available to and from north parking areas. Trams operate
all hours the Fair is open.
Please leave pets at home. With the exception of Seeing Eye Dogs accompanying
the visually impaired, pets are not permitted on the fairgrounds. Do not
leave them in your vehicle.
Auto assistance. If you lock your keys, have a flat tire or a dead battery,
a parking attendant can notify a Fair-certified towing service, and they
will assist you with your minor emergency needs.
Wear comfortable shoes. With 130 acres to cover, there is plenty of
walking.
Bring your camera. The Fair abounds in snapshot opportunities. Run out
of film? Check with the Lost Children’s booth. Please note: cameras
and video may be prohibited during certain entertainment events.
Credit cards & ATM’s. Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and
Discover are accepted at all admission gates. ATM machines are available
at multiple locations.
Check with Guest Services for more information.
Diaper-changing. Facilities are located in most men’s and women’s
restrooms on the fairgrounds.
Remember your medication. If you have a medical condition that requires
medication, be sure to bring what you need with you. Refrigeration of prescription
drugs is available at First Aid near the Lost Children’s booth.
Strollers, wheelchairs. Rentals are available at the Fair for baby strollers,
wagons, wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, and scooters. Check at the front
of the Expo Center and the Archway Gate.
Daily schedules. Each Palm
Beach Post Guest Services booth
is stocked with daily event schedules complete with show times and Fair
information.
Want to plan your day before you arrive? Get the daily schedule at home
online.
Lost? The Palm
Beach Post Lost Children’s booth is located on the
main concourse at the south end of the covered walkway. You may also seek
assistance at any Palm Beach Post Guest Services booth. When you get to
the Fair, it’s a good idea to select a meeting place in the event
your party becomes separated. One tip is to select a tall, brightly colored
ride on the carnival midway.
Lost & Found. If you’ve lost an item during your visit, all unattended
property will be safely guarded at the Lost Children’s Booth.
Bring your appetite. The South Florida Fair is famous for its wide array
of delectable food treats. From barbecue to elephant ears, there is nothing
like Fair food! Thirsty? There are lots of free water fountains throughout
the
fairgrounds. Bottled water and Pepsi products can also be purchased.
Leave coolers at home. Please leave all bottles, cans, coolers, and picnic
baskets at home or in your vehicle. Such items are not permitted inside
the gates.
Wash your hands. The Fair has hand-washing stations available near hands-on
animal exhibit areas.
Have a blast!
The South Florida Fair is the biggest and oldest event
in our community. It’s 17 days of outrageous fun for the entire family.
Visit often and have a great time!
